The UB connector has a pre-crimp feature which allows the craftsman to position UB and snap it into place with his fingers prior to final crimping. The pre-crimp feature prevents the wire from slipping out of the connector before the plier crimp is made. The UB allows tapping directly onto an existing wire without interrupting service; in ready access closures, UB eliminates cutting cable pairs, opening circuits and piecing out wires.
